Upcoming 2014 Campaign Dates
Globe at Night Spotlight
For this month’s Globe at Night spotlight, we will highlight those countries which have achieved our “Over 1000” Club status, meaning that we have received more than 1000 submissions from these countries so far this year! The members are:
USA (3461), Croatia (2107), Poland (1384), South Korea (1145), and Chile (1099). Check out the maps below to see how these countries are doing!
Did you know that 3 out of every 5 submissions come from one of our “Over 1000” Club members? Want to help your country reach the “Over 1000” or “Over 100” Club status? Adopting a street is an easy way to contribute! Just take measurements every mile or kilometer for the entire length of the street. Getting a group of people together to map out a neighborhood is an easy way to put your town on the map!

More Earth and Sky Photo Contest
Did you know that the winners of The World at Night’s International Earth and Sky Photo Contest have been featured on NBC, NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day, and in the Smithsonian Magazine? Be sure to check out these amazing photos and share them with your friends and family!
Dark Skies Meetings
There are three upcoming meetings centered on dark skies. The first will be held in Flagstaff, Arizona from August 18-20. For more information, check out the Blinded by the Light webpage. The second will be the Artificial Light at Night conference, held in Leicester, England from September 2-4, and more information can be found on their website. Finally, the 14th European Symposium for the Protection of the Night Sky will be held in Alqueva, Portugal from September 18-20.
